Need Dining Room help!

mkrzyz22

My dining room is so empty and plain. I have no idea what to do as far as decorating...more furnitue, window treatments, etc.

the existing table was my DH's grandparents so we have to keep it. We made these slipcovers for it because the chairs were too ornate for our style. Our home is Craftsman Style and we like straight, simple designs, semi modern and some Asian influences.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Well -- it may sound simplistic but how about white shutters OR white linen roman blinds for the windows?

Look for a long console table for the right-hand wall. Add a wonderful artwork above it and two buffet lamps (for additional lighting options -- always nice!)

OR perhaps a co-ordinating china cabinet?

I like this one! Your room has a clean feel to it and I think this with buffet lamps and a tall silver frame mirror would look great!

Your room is beautiful. I LOVE it. I agree you need a buffet or sideboard type table. Where did you get your rug?

Your dining room is very pretty.

I spy someone must be an architect or draftsman by the drafting table.

Ah! For artworks ----- how about a set of six antique botanical prints OR perhaps a antique (or reproduction) of old landscape or garden plans?? Perhaps one of your own?

Here's an example -- just an example!! :)

My dining room is very much like yours (in fact, the chandeliers are very similar too).

The coloring is off in the picture. (It's a lot less pink that it looks. Its actually a tan.)

I'll have to post the next picture in another response, sorry.

I think the room needs some beautiful drapes in a tan/taupe/gold color pulled from the rug, go shopping and have fun.

Gorgeous room! I like the suggestions here about botanical art. Great!

What color are your walls? (I'm on a red hunt.)

I also think gold silk panels would be wonderful window treatments in this gorgeous room. I also think you need a sideboard/server/cabinet of some sort. Since you like Asian, you might like these, they are done on silk and to me have an Asian feel.

empty? Yes. plain? no way. That's a gorgeous room and I agree that some gold curtains would make such a difference in there. Can you tell me what color you used in your hallways?

What about Roman shades on your windows in the goldish tones but banded with a wide chenille that picks up on the Craftsman/A&C style of your home?

Since DH doesn't do drapes. I really don't see them in there, either.

I love your choices of paint. We are starting to finish our basement and we are looking at either the BM
Fairway oaks or the one down from it on the paint chart Capilano Bridge. Can you tell me what is you dining room color? We are looking to use the BM Caliente. Beautiful rooms!
