I would do wood, painted to match the walls.....if you need to remove the rad in the future, much easier to remove wood than tile.

Beadboard wainscoting would be perfect considering the bead board like style of the heater.

Another idea, I've put up here before, is to paste some textured, paintable wall paper between the chair rail moulding and the floor board tile/moulding and paint it white (or whatever color), but you'd also want to put moulding around the perimeter of the heater to give it a finished look.

Comes in a ton of designs, including beadboard!, from geometric to ornate. It's cool stuff.

Oh, that was a window sill, not a chair rail. how about doing a wainscoting , either wood or the paintable wallpaper, and adding a chair rail all the way around the bathroom? So pretty.

Yes to wood trim to the floor with baseboard tile butting up against it on both sides and painted the same color as the wall.

Do you want to keep it simple with just moulding, or do you like the idea (and have the space) for a very skinny radiator cover?

Hmm, I wouldn't do anything. Maybe paint the area on the bottom... cant quite see.

I am not sure I would add anything either. Maybe a very narrow piece of trim if it is a raw edge.

That looks so much like the bath in our old 50s ranch...same radiator too. We had a rad cover made that went into the corner. It had a surface on top where we could put stuff and it had a small sliding door in the back with a shelf for storing t paper.

Sorry no...no pics of the old house....I can tell you we had it made out of a Formica that almost matched the wall tile so it blended in rather that stuck out.
