I have (BM White Dove) trim and I stripped and stained my FP this fall, but I don't have windows on either side of it. I have two white doors on each side.

Thanks. I love the FP stripped. It was white before, which is a more formal look; stripped is more rustic, of course, so I guess you have to decide which you prefer.

White Dove is a highly recommended trim paint by pro painters; it's soft, creamy, but it is not stark, so if you want stark, I'd consider a more white white.

Oh, also, I used stain polyurethane, and it took a LOT of (thin) coats, esp. the wides flat front-facing board.

This is a picture of my great room. As you can see the mantle and stairway are stained and the rest of the woodwork throughout the house is white. I like it, but not everyone is positive (house is on market).

Sorry, I don't have any pics but did want to say that your room looks so beautiful, Tibbie! I love the fireplace surround that new color . . . and style of your doors, too. I like them a lot! A very warm and welcoming room.

That was supposed to be SATIN polyurethane, not "stain".

Thanks Linen! I get a lot of compliments on the stripped FP surround. Goes well with the rustic nature of the room. I am loving the Lenox Tan. Most of the time it radiates a very warm, rustic tone.
