I don't have that sofa, but about 10 yrs ago I purchased another style Pier 1 sleeper sofa. It was a waste of my money...cheap foreign construction with cushions that were as comfortable as wooden boards.

i think their furniture is way overpriced- esp upholstery... you can find a much nicer quality furniture for your money!

I purchased a brown leather chair and ottoman from them about 6 years ago. It was the right color and smaller size that I needed. What I didn't realize was it was only real leather on the seat, arms and inside back. The entire outside is faux. The top cushion of the ottoman is real, the balance faux. It's actually nice leather and the tag says made in Italy. But it was discontinued shortly thereafter and since I've noticed nothing but faux leather in their store.

We bought a set of dressers there years ago. They were wood-veneer. They were a good deal more expensive than Ikea's similar offerings and have held up not even 1/10th as well...

The candles are nice but I would buy a piece of furniture elsewhere.

Yes, it's a shame but their pieces seem to be cheaply made although the design in a lot of cases is great.
I recently saw a sofa in a Pier1 that I loved but I know better!

I have two folding book cases that I purchased from Pier 1 about 8 years ago. They are in fantastic condition, but get light use. Overall, the wood is lower quality (but seems to be solid) and the construction is lower quality. In hindsight, they were probably overpriced but I liked the finish and styling at the time. I would agree with the others that their furniture is generally overpriced for the quality and construction. I would not purchase furniture from them again.
