I disagree. Paint first, then bedding. Unless you plan on painting every time you buy a new quilt. If not, you'll be stuck with that color palette for a long time.

If you want patterned bedding, then definitely bedding first and pick a paint color to coordinate with that.

If you prefer solid bedding, then you can pick the paint color first and get solid bedding to coordinate.

I'm with oakleyok. The paint is gonna be there with or without the bedding. My walls influence my experience in any room. Of course, I'm more than likely to pick bedding that goes with my walls anyway. Actually, I don't have a lot of bedding rules to begin with.

I'd choose the wall paint first because that is the constant equation in my MB. The bedding changes between at least three different colors/patterns during the year; summer weight, spring/autumn weight, and it is relatively cold out there weight. And the bedding can change out of boredom, too. My walls haven't changed color since I first painted them three years ago.
