I'm not an expert, but I am guessing the 1970s, and a vaguely Tiffany style knockoff. I would send it off to Goodwill.

I'm pretty sure back in the olden days of the 70's we called them tulip lamps...google tulip swag lamp and you'll find lots of them.

Wow, olychick, that isn't just a similar lamp on eBay, I think it is the exact same lamp. 24 bucks--seems like a bargain for what seems to be a pretty well made lamp. Give it another 50 years and I'll probably kick myself for giving it to Goodwill.

Oldbat2be, I will ask my mom when I get the chance. I was up here to move her to a retirement home but she ended up in the hospital with an infection (she will be fine and they expect her to come home Sunday or Monday).

My mom said the she and Dad bought the lamp for my (paternal) grandparents 50th anniversary (which would have been in the early to mid 70s), and then inherited it when my grandma died. The fact that it was a gift explains why it is a bit nicer than most of the stuff my mom and dad owned. As we've sorted through stuff, I've noticed that almost all the nice things they own were inherited.
