I have brackets for inside mount roller shades and brackets for curtains on the woodwork or just outside the woodwork. If you were to use roller shades mounted on your woodwork, then you would just have to make sure the curtain brackets stuck out farther than the roller shade brackets and mount them above the roller shades. It can be done...if you can't find longer curtain brackets, put a small block of wood under the curtain rod bracket...making it longer...won't show under the curtains.
