Hi, lazydaisynot! What I used and loved is Abatron WoodEpox. I've put a link below of what I bought on Amazon.

A little goes a long way, and I would suggest that if you don't need a lot of it, that you do a search for 'Abatron WoodEpox - Epoxy Wood Replacement Compound (Parts A & B) - 6 oz jars', as if you have plastic putty knives, that's really all you'll need. It has no smell, mixes easily, isn't all all sticky and it's very light weight to work with.

My3dogs, I am going to take a look at the damaged areas to assess how much I'll need. I really appreciate the information and the suggestion. Searching the threads prior to posting today wasn't entirely fruitless, as it gave me a chance to take another look at many of your gorgeous chairs!

I have been in withdrawal, too, working very long days of 12 - 14 hours during the 4th quarter. I have been 'too pooped to pop' when I finish work, so am gradually getting back into some fun projects.

I started very 'lightly' with these 19th century ginger jar lamps from eBay. They came with the old rayon covered cord that was broken in many places, and equally old non-useable plugs. I LOVED the coral color.

I re-wired them, and using as many original parts as I could, such as the sockets and some of the aged brass hardware, made them into 21" high lamps I hope to use on my mantel.

At the great local shop where I went to find oval shades for them, I found these perfect finials. I'm very happy with my 'new' old lamps! I love the original pull chain to turn them on/off.
