I have a Pottery Barn Armonk Chandelier (did I spell that correctly?) with magnetic crystals from Ballard Designs.

Something like this might be substantial, yet have a touch of bling, for your space. To me, it seems like the love child of your two original offerings. It is a modern version of the antique French country chandelier in the first house my husband and I owned together.

grlwprls, How do you like your chandy? I looked at it on their site and it had mixed reviews. My monitor shows your picture more brown and on the site it looks more black.

We've not had any complaints with the Armonk. It's definitely *rusty* not ORB or black. In fact, it was admired and photographed by the ironworkers that did our welded in place custom staircase to the loft. They thought the finish on it was "very good for mass-produced" (maybe I should go over and defend my chandy on PB :-)?) On the other hand, PB is selling it as a damp rated fixture and I can't say that I think it would do well finish wise outdoors...

Ah, perhaps the difference is that I bought my chandelier in 2009 and carted that baby from my old house to my temporary construction apartment to my new house? I'd already had mine a year when all these folks got theirs and maybe PB was not as stringent with the production in later runs as they were with the first wave? Mine is definitely not spray painted looking, or uneven in tone, or fragile. It weighs a ton for what it is and trust me, none of my contractor's heathens babied it. :-)

I have seen that one on overstock and it has great reviews. I may seriously consider ordering it. You don't think a 24" w fixture would look too small in that room. My table is roughly 44" w.

Hmmm, I will admit that the "rule" is that your chandelier is supposed to be 12" narrower than your table...so that puts you somewhere in the 32" diameter range. Which, I suppose, does make 24" too small! Rats!

Hopefully someone else will chime in and tell us if this is a rule that can easily be broken.
