i would probably end up painting it the trim color since the bathroom and cabinetry is right there and it's cabinetry is the trim color it looks like... (?) or at least very light...
but, if not the trim color, and if it's not a stainable wood, i would probably do a neutral gray/brown/tan/taupe. i like black, but i don't think i would choose black for that spot....

I agree, I think I would paint it the trim color. If it were a free standing piece I might be tempted to go with a color, but since it's built-in, I'd match the trim. It look like it will be a wonderful addition to the space...so useful!

I would say if it was a piece of furniture yes, but as a built-in, I don't think I would.

All I can say is, "don't." I never knew why I had asthma until I painted my trim black and dusting is not an everyday thing now; it's an every 4-hour thing.

I love black, but my gut instinct says no. I think I would paint it the same as your trim so it just blends in.
