Reulpolstering antiques in modern fabric or colors

I have a formal sitting room with victorian furniture. The material is water damaged and the sofa has sawdust coming out of the bottom whenever someone sits on it. The room is open to my den which is casual. Since i need to work on the set, I was wondering if anyone else has reulpolstered their parlor set to fit in a more modern scheme. I have four pieces in there. Sofa, loveseat, and two arm chairs. I actually have a total of 6 pieces, but I don't want the room look too crowded. Has anyone reulpolstered a formal set to match the rest of their house or look less formal? I would love any ideas or suggestions.

Idid all my antique chairs in a neutral coffee color and they look fab. I went on to do chair seats myself and I used linen. Again they look great. It's a perfect background for which to display nice pillows and it makes the room feel so serene.
