I have this gold tone on all walls and ceiings of my main floor; it's a canadian paint brand so not much use here, ( peanut by Sico) and it was brushed on with strokes of white here and there, I have a plaster finish on my walls............................
I'll be looking for a lighter tone soon......

The color is Benjamin Moore Shelbourne Buff.

Question - I put on the Shelburne buff today and it does not look yellow (as in your picture but I also know I'm on the internet and colors look different). It is more of a brown shade in my opinion but I do like it. It actually matches one of the stripes in my family room chairs indentical. I have a blue jean color sofa & the chairs are striped with red, white, blue, yellow & a small strip of this brown. We just put up shadow boxes, chair rail and crown molding that I painted in a nice white. I'm wanting the walls to accent off the wood work.

I've tried so many colors and my contractor is dying of laughter at how many strips of paint I have on the wall. I tried the BM Barley but that is just too pale. I really thought I wanted a Tuscany color yellow and boy is it really overpowering in my rooms. I had to take another turn so I thank you all so much for starting this thread. It has helped me out so much!

Judy, I looked at your pics and I agree--your tile does look identical to mine. I don't remember the name brand or color/pattern specifics of my tile but the name you mentioned does not ring any bells.

I really wanted a buttery creamy yellow so this past weekend my daughter and I repainted based on "MoonShadow's" suggestion and went with SW's Jersey Cream. I would have never chosen this color in the store from the paint chip. I actually took the chip to Wal-Mart and had them color match it. I chose Kilz's Eggshell finish because I've used their paint before. I love the truly one coat coverage and it's scrubbability. The concocted "Jersey Cream" color was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Not too tannish, not to yellow. It reminds me of a newly opened tub of butter.

I'd wanted a French vanilla color and it is much more yellow than I'd wanted. In certain light (morning), it has a pleasant creaminess, but at night, it's YELLOW. I wouldn't use it again.

I have been oohing and ahhing most of the day at the pictures and colors here. Yellow is my favorite color. I recently updated my bathrooms. I cannot afford a remodel. I am on a strict and limited budget but I love how they turned out. Here are a couple of pictures of my tiny, yellow guest bathroom.

Some reviews on BM Paint for those who are stuck and are like me looking for an old world classic yellow with no undertones.

Sweet Butter: Very nice tone but a bit darker than it shows on the swatch. Really nice for a kitchen or bath but I wouldn't paint my entire living room and foyer with it.

Country Comfort: Very close to Golden Honey but with more orange in it. If you don't mind a color that has a bit more orange in it, then its a great yellow. (Good for smaller spaces)

Honey Wheat: Much more orange than I expected I would have regret painting my entire living room in it as I didn't expect it to come out as dark. (Good for smaller spaces)

Golden Honey: A beautiful yellow that I would definitely use for a large space as it is a classic golden yellow and beautiful. Its light but not pastel and not orange it has a neutral brown undertone so it shows the same in daylight and night beautiful. I'd put photos of the swatches but don't know how to upload.

Other colors I'm considering are:

It is Behr's THREADED GOLD in latex enamel, either flat (in the study), or semi gloss (in the kitchens) It is a very soft and earthy yellow ochre color.

I've used BM Ivorie and Blonde in past projects and always found them a bit yellow. I just did my bedroom, don't remember the color but looked gorgeous on the card, and it's too orange on the walls. My boyfriend's house has three different golds and I hate all 3 - not in his house necessarily, but not what I want. One is yellow, one is orange and the other, well, I don't know, just don't like it.

I am on a tight budget and really don't have extra $$ to waste on a dozen sample pots, though if I can narrow it down to just 2 or 3 I'm sure it's worth that route rather than hating the color.

Restrained Gold is lovely, but in my previous home I chose Fairmont Suite Gold over it (Lowes brand). Loved the color there, and it was with the same odd color leather sofa I am still using, but it was a huge house, very open with lots of light. The townhouse I'm getting ready to paint and move to is very small, no natural light, ugh. I really need lighter, but still gold without going yellow.

Which of your GOLDS would you recommend that are on the lighter side without looking yellow or peachy?
