emery, you would have the most luck posting this question in the Main Page of the Home Decorating forum, this forum is more for pictures, so it is slower than the main forum.

But, to answer your question, I have seen lots of beautifully decorated rooms done with shutters and curtains. Some people do not like having curtains with the shutters, so to me it seems to be a personal decision of what YOU like.
