Because your rooms are so open to one another, I think I'd go with the same hardwood throughout so the floorspace flows and doesn't looked chopped up by a variety of materials. You have a lot of wall space along that long wall for a large wall unit with shelves for books or display on both sides of your TV and closed cupboards below.
