Can we make our rancher feel Tuscan?

We are getting ready to start a pretty big remodel of our kitchen/great room, a few bedrooms and bathrooms. We are very drawn to the rustic/Tuscan feel and look, and plan for incorporating that in the inside of our house. The outside is typical rancher and we were thinking about trying for a makeover there, as well. Is this a bad idea?

Below I have (hopefully) posted a picture of our house, currently, and an inspiration house that I love. We are considering replacing the brick along the bottom 1/3 of the house with a rock facade and bringing it up and around the window upstairs, changing the window to one with an arch, and then stuccoing the rest of the house. We'd also add an arched entry way, similar to the inspiration photo.

We welcome any thoughts or suggestions!

I was looking for something else and saw this...

You'll get a much better response if you post on the Discussions side. The Gallery is usually just for adding finished photos.

Really, Sheesharee? Because I posted a very nice intro and simple paint color questions and not one person replied to me on the discussion board. Not one. I had a lot of trouble posting pics, and not one person even reached out to help with that. Guess the circle is full here. I'm entering lurker mode now and will just take knowledge from previous posts/discussions without replying or asking anything new.

Bonnie - We are a visual group so photos directly in the post are very helpful and will get the most responses. I just searched for your post found the one you're talking about dated 8/10. During the search I also found one about curb appeal on the 9th that quite a few people responded to. 99% of the people that participate on this forum are very nice and helpful. Don't let one post get your frustrated.

To post photos most of us use Photobucket because it's free. For Photobucket create and account and upload your pics. Resize them and copy and paste the HTML code in the message box. When you preview the thread your photo will show up if you did it right.

I hope you and Shanmundy continue to be active on the forum.
