You're plan looks lovely and by window I'm thinking you mean the largle glass doors in the dining room. From the plan it's hard to see how much room is available but I can visualize some nice gauzy curtains. Nate Berkus makes lovely ones and they give the sea shore feeling. You could put them on rings so they could move easily and then either a small shelf to the right with a set of binoculars or a telescope. Most telescopes don't get much use but binaculars do. I don't think anything else is necessary. If someone were to use the binoculars they could pull over one of those lovely chairs and relax.

How about a nice cushy rug comfy to stand on a while, a beautiful cosy swivel barstool with arms fitting a Telescope for easy viewing, a convienient shelf for binaculars and drinks, with concideration for how many people would be viewing whales at the same time. I like the gauzy curtains idea also, depending on the style of the surrounding rooms.

Thank you both. We usually catch a sighting of a whale or two by accident and then run over and grab the binaculars. Yayagal, you are so right... We rarely use our telescope. So glad you reminded me.
