fireplace mantle decoration

Hi,
i recently moved into a apartment with high ceilings and corner fireplace. I have to decorate the mantle space above the fireplace and need ideas !
There is a built-in arch shelf above the mantle and i dont know what to do with it.
any suggestion is welcome ! :)
