| Here are my saved dining room inspiration pics to share with you. Please feel free to add your own DR pics to this thread. I have attempted to give proper credit where I know it. If you are the designer of any of these rooms, please claim them!
This time I am numbering the pictures to make them easier for you to discuss should you wish.

| Beautiful collection-such different styles but each one presents such a beautiful and fresh impression when you first view them. I could live so "happily" in almost all of them. Thank you! |

| Thanks oceanna, those rooms are pretty!!! Not something I can say for any of mine :-( Can anyone venture a guess on the wall color in room 139? |

| Claudesw ~ thanks! You're smart to save any pics you don't want to lose, as apparently all threads around here can disappear sooner or later. Valley ~ You're welcome and thanks! I agree, except when I see the all white ones my first thought is I'd be so nervous about spilling anything. Nami ~~ Thanks! The paint in #139 looks to me like Behr Laurel Mist, or maybe April Mist. I opened two browsers side by side so I could compare the colors. You can click the link below, then click on "Explore Color" then click on "Start Color Smart." A smaller window pops up. Click on "Select," then click on "Greens." There is a bar at the bottom of the green swatches that you can click right or left and the swatches will change. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Behr Color Smart

Wow - so many cool rooms. Lots of inspiration for sewing projects. This is a pic from a sherwin williams ad of my favorite dining room:

I actually used those colors in my kids bathroom, but I try to not visit it too often. |

| Daisy, that's a great DR and I think I'd love being there too. I like what you just said. Like you, I might look at a picture of one kind of room and see the perfect color scheme for another. Or I might see a great storage idea, or a shelf I like, or a window treatment idea that I'd do in a different color in a different room. Sewing projects? Yes! I learn a lot and get lots of good ideas by looking at the pictures. I will be looking at each one that I like and studying it many times. |

| Hi oceanna: I am so impressed by your wonderful portfolio. I have a question for you. In a thread several months ago you gave me instructions for including a picture in a thread. I have tried it several times but I just get a red x. I just now tried to resize the photo, thinking that it might have been too large. However, I am still getting the x. My photos are hosted on Flicker (flickr.com), and I am wondering if there is a problem linking through flicker. Have you had any problems with doing this? I thought that you would be likely to know since you have been so successful at saving pictures. Thanks so much and thanks for these great threads! Regards, Beth |
RE: Dining Room Eye Candy - please add yours!
| | |
| Hi Beth, I don't use Flicker, so I can't comment on it, sorry. I use ImageShack and I don't keep any albums there. I didn't join or anything. All you need is the URL for the picture. Then it's < img src = your url here > and the only space is between "img" and "src." Img src stands for image source. If you type "how post picture" in the GW search window it will come up with some articles that can explain it better than I do. Good luck! |

| I really like the chairs on kimmieb's 19th one down, as well as the chair's on #24 in Oceanna's post. Are they considered specific styles? Thanks, Christy BTW, fantastic pics, thanks for sharing!!!! |
RE: Dining Room Eye Candy - please add yours!
| | |
| Hi Christy. I'm not good at this but I'll venture a guess... Parson's chairs? Glad you're enjoying! If you have a stash of your own, feel free to post them.

|
RE: Dining Room Eye Candy - please add yours!
| | |
| Thanks Oceanna :) Looking through those I still like the Parson's chair (I sound like I know what I'm talking about!), but I think I really like the wood framed ones? Would those still be considered Parson's chairs? I wish I had some to post, all I've accomplished so far is a PR, a nursery, and just ordered a master bedroom set. I've posted pics of the other two!! Christy These are the chairs that I'm describing:
|
RE: Dining Room Eye Candy - please add yours!
| | |
| Thanks for posting the pic, Christy. The chairs are beautiful, and I honestly don't know if they'd be considered parsons chairs or not, sorry. Here are some more inspiration pics for anyone who is interested, though. I decided to show more details, like lighting, table settings, and so on...

RE: Dining Room Eye Candy - please add yours!

| Here are some more lovely dining rooms. I have also begun to toss some tablescapes into my files, some decorated buffets, and a few close ups of chandys.

| How to use mismatched dining chairs...
Of course, you can always distract the focus from the chairs - lol...
If you want the chairs to look the same, you can always slipcover everything the same...
(There are other examples of mismatches above, too.) |
