| Ours has been @ 2.92 since the weekend. Was surprised to see it below $3.00. What are prices in your area?

Wow Tina, that's great. For us, it can vary greatly in our area by just a couple of miles. A couple of days ago, I filled my tank at a Costco that's about 10 miles east of us. I paid 3.07, but around our house it is 3.13. A little farther north or south they are still paying 3.21. That of course is the "cash" price except at Sam's Club and Costco which is usually in the same ball park as the cash price. The price you pay if you use a debit or credit card is .10 more. We never fill at the regular stations. Luckily we have both Sam's and Costco w/in a mile of us, so we go there. It probably sounds silly to go to that trouble for just a couple of dollars difference but it's a matter of principal for me. I hate the gas companies. ;c)

3.06 to 3.09 for regular. The cheapest I've seen was last week when we were on the road to see family. Tupelo, MS: $2.95. Unfortunately, none of our vehicles use regular. DH's is diesel and mine is premium, as is the Beetle convertible. It used to be that premium was about 15 cents more than regular, then 20 cents more. For the last year or so it has been 30 cents more, and sometimes the gap is even larger. I'm not sure what's up with that.

I got gas at my usual station for $3.46/gal, but down the street at the cheap station it was $3.39. I was surprised to see these prices as when I last filled up it was $3.64 a couple weeks ago. Moat places are same price cash/debit, but the cheap stations charge a debit fee. We also have no self serve here, so I don't know if that plays into our higher price or not. There are some stores that have customer loyalty cards and their own gas stations where you can get up to 10 cents off per gallon by earning points. Ridiculous that I get excited to see gas at 'only' $3.46.

In my area gas at Costco was $3.64/gallon last week, while the Costco 100 miles away had gas for $3.33/gallon!

$2.98-$3.09...not bad for a city with a population of a half million people. Usually prices are lowest in smaller towns and the further south you go. I'm in the southeast corner of VA. In Northern VA I am sure gas prices are much higher.

My Costco doesn't have a gas station. I paid $3.89 for regular last week. Ouch! Feel lucky my Prius gets such great gas milage. I can get up to 50 miles a gallon or as low as 42 MPG. Depends on the terrain and outdoor temperatures.

$3.71 yesterday at the cheap station for regular unleaded.

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I have no idea what gas prices are in my area. I never really know, unless there's a lot of talk that they're much higher than usual and then I might pay attention. But we do so little driving - just to/from work (very close to home), gym, grocery store - that we don't have to fill the tanks often, and when do, it just is "what it is." We tend to go to the same two stations near our home, because they're convenient. I won't ever go out of my way to spend a little less per gallon.

$4.42 / US gallon. :( (However I'm in Canada, so where I am it's actually $1.17/L) |

When I 'gassed up' 3 days ago it was $3.03 at a station in Asutin,Tx. The price seems to be coming down rapidly~~hope it continues. ;o)

That's what I thought, S-G! Of course, today when I went to fill up at that great price, it was up to $3.56. Did I stop there near school? Of course not! I knew my Shell station would be the same or less as usual. Ended up paying $3.63! Would have waited until Monday, but would have been running on fumes by then. Oh well. :)
