The press were not staged to capture the killing of Oswald. They were there to see and yell questions to Oswald.

There will always be those who think JFK's murder was a conspiracy.

Back then, media was different. They respected the office of the President and kept a lot quiet. No telling if the dirty laundry would have come out in his lifetime or not.

In the reader comments of the 50th anniversary online articles, I'm struck by how many claim "so and so confessed on his death bed..." I'm getting weary (& wary) of these so-called death bed confessions. They're a dime a dozen for just about any conspiracy theory.

History channel (HC2 I believe) is running another showing of newly released Kennedy family home movies. It was shown on the anniversary last year but if you haven't seen it and that kind of thing interests you, it's worth watching.

If anyone has an interest, quite a few years ago, Vincent Bugliosi...of prosecuting Charles Manson fame... wrote a tome on the evidence and dissecting every conspiracy proving that oswald acted alone.

Thanks for the head's up, moonshadow. The History Channel's coverage is much more interesting -- lots of videos from the day instead of empty talk by commentators..
