My DD freezes in her office. I was thinking this would be a good Christmas gift. It has some good reviews and some bad. Just wondering if any of you might have this or know someone who has it. Any input would be appreciated!

I've never seen one of these. While I think they would be great for home, I do wonder what your DD's work environment is like. In the event she works in a very professional office, wearing the blanket like a cape might not work out very well. Depends on the office formality. Also, whether she has her own office with some privacy. If she has her own office, I think it would work well, as opposed to sitting in a larger office with many desks/people surrounding. Alot of people in our offices make use of those small electric ceramic space heaters. I have one, and it is really not noticeable at all. It is about 5"x9", sits under my desk. Really, I think it depends on your DD's office protocol for things like this. It is a great find, and I really want to hear what other posters have to say. Have to say I that I'm really impressed that you are already starting your holiday shopping. I wish I was a bit more organized in that department! Heck, most of my fall and winter clothing are still waiting for me to do something with them!

She does have her own office but unfortunately she also has a large AC/Heating unit blowing right above her desk. It's cold in the summer and winter for some reason. All the other offices are perfect in temp. She has clients come in but of course she would never use the blanket in front of them. She works alot of overtime and that's when she would use it. I am just starting to think about gifts but my DSis has hers done because she was so far behind last year she didn't enjoy the holiday's at all. I have alot of projects going on so I will be lucky to get anything done!

The problem that I see with that blanket, is that you are in effect "plugged in" to the computer. It seems that it would make mobility in the office a pain. Cute idea, but maybe better for a gag gift than for practical purposes.

They make small lap blankets that plug into an electrical socket. I think that might be a better choice. You might want to check the reviews on Amazon of the USB version.

I had an office like that. I used the small ceramic space heater under my desk (heaven!). I also ended up taping file folders over the vent over my head -- I completely sealed mine off by taping the folders flat against the vent but others in my office with the same problem bent the folders into a kind of "chute" shape so that they would redirect the air sideways instead of having it blow directly down on top of them. There's probably a pre-made plastic thing you can get that does the same thing (if she sees clients in her office, the file folders might not be the best look, LOL!) but our company was cheap and we didn't ever have outside clients in our offices, so the folders worked for us.

I love the blanket; the fact that it's USB doesn't matter because you can buy a wall plug for it. There are many manufacturers that make the USB wall plug- QVC has them; Newegg.com may even have them

Can she move her desk away from the vent? Can she call building maintenance to adjust the vent? Some of those vents can adjust the amount of air coming out; some can adjust the direction the air flows.

She has a rather large office but the vent is very large too. Her desk and all the wall unites are built-in. All the other offices stay warm while her's is freezing. She has had everyone look at it including her boss but they can't do anything about it. At least she gets out of the office quite a bit. A man would probably love this office! Thanks for all the input. I will continue to look into the options.

What type of vent? Can she get one of those plastic magnetic pieces to stop the vent from blowing on her? This was a quick search on the wall adapter- $15 BELKIN BZ103050-TVL 3 Outlets 918 Joules Mini Surge Protector with 2 USB Charger - Wall Mount
