I don't know how knowledgable a group would be...it depends on the individuals...but there are plenty of on line resources to check if you want to get basic stats on a company...Morningstar, big charts...

There is a site called Seeking Alpha. It isn''t really a forum, but I have learned so much going there.

Online financial communities dispensing information aren't your best option. Investing isn't a one size fits all and people can have the tendency to hype what works for them. Companies, too, are pushing their own agendas without knowing your financial needs and risk tolerances.

It's hard, but you really have to do your own research... the information is out there to be sifted through.

Check out EarlyRetirement.com and the Stockpicking (Individual Security Analysis) forum. Based upon ER site surveys, generally high net worth participants. Expected given the target audience.
FYI: General bias against use of wealth managers, most on the site prefer to keep the 1% WITHIN the portfolio.

Many participants run trend analysis and linear regressions on various offerings. Spirited financial dialogue.

Boggleheads is another option, though the bias leans heavily toward index investing.

Thanks! I use various online resources to do my own research but am also interested in a discussion forum. I take it all with a grain of salt depending on the source and plan to do the same if I find a suitable forum.
