Anele, when my 'Mum' was terminally ill earlier this year, a case coordinator who I had become friends with the previous year, told me that she is a Reiki master and would like to try it on Mum to help relieve some head pain she was having. Mum was very old school and this didn't seem possible to her, but she let Ann try it on her.

I was told that Mum said to Ann that her hands were very hot, and Ann told Mum that she wasn't touching her at all. Mum could feel the heat moving through her body in areas that Ann was moving her hands over, while not touching Mum at all. Mum's head pain had been happening for years, and despite going to every type of doctor imaginable, here in Maine and also specialists in Boston, the cause was never diagnosed.

The Reiki effects lasted for a few hours, and made Mum sleepy, but those few pain free hours were so wonderful for her.

I have gone twice for reiki -- actually to a woman who is also a medium, so the first visit was for both reiki and a reading (yes, with specific info from/about dead relatives! it was amazing). The second time was reiki only for an hour. It is so relaxing. I didn't have any specific ailments other than stress, and I did find that the reiki really cleared my head. In fact, by the point about halfway thru the session, I could barely form a thought in my head. As someone whose mind is racing so much of the time, that was a fairly new experience for me! I am going back again in a couple of weeks. Wish I could justify going every week!

I had a friend several years ago who was very into it . I tried it and didn't feel anything. My daughter has gotten very into it and actually has a bit of a clientele building up as she is apparently very good.
I know there is more to it and it is becoming more and more accepted in conjunction with other medical avenues. I just didn't really feel it but I may be in the minority.
I do believe it's real, just somehow it didn't seem to connect with me.
