Pesky, I am so sorry. My friend was also in a similar situation about 10 years ago, and it was just so sad after such joy. They were long distance and finalizing his move to be with her when he had a pulmonary embolism. She also passed away this summer.

Just this week a school bus ran a solid red light and almost hit DH. He was so shaken he didn't even think to follow to get the bus number to call it in.

I am sorry for your ailing pet.
