I've had a Pinterest account for some time, but never used it too much--pinned a few recipes and birthday party ideas for the children, mainly.

A couple of months ago I decided to transfer my paper "to do" list for the house onto Pinterest. Instead of a line on paper saying "replace bathroom light fixture", I made a bathroom board on Pinterest and pinned the actual fixtures I was considering or inspired by.

I had a couple of weeks off of work and during that time I tackled so many of the items on my Pinterest boards--things that had been on the to-do list since moving into this house 5 years ago: window treatments, repairs, little decor projects.

Somehow, I guess looking at photos of the new fixture on Pinterest was more inspiring than looking at the old one every day in real life and hating it! My proudest moment: I hung a roman shade all by myself, and it actually works.

I'm going to start a new board for the other bathroom, now :)
