Our community does a slip and slide at our community picnic. Very popular. No injuries.

My 25yo son and his roommates made a giant on in their flat bac yard. My heart skips a beat when I look at the photos of those guys sliding with a beer in their hands. Do they EVER grow up?

When I was young we would use cardboard to slide down the tall weeds.

Incredibly fun - even on a small hill. I even went down twice. The kids would have kept doing it all afternoon, but we didn't have a water supply. We trekked water over in our wagons and buckets so when it ran out, we refilled once more. Each kid got about 10 or 15 turns. Also, I just bought the cheap poly sheeting and it was pretty torn up by the end, so it would be worth it to do the more expensive heavy duty poly. Sorry no pics, but I would highly recommend.

Good. I'm glad there were no injuries. I screwed up my shoulder 15 years ago when I thought it was necessary to teach the kids in my neighborhood how to properly use the slip-n-slide. Still hurts at times.

Not sure if I've ever been on one; but I stopped going on water slides after smashing my face at the one in Seaside when I was 15. I put a hairline crack in my top front teeth. I always knew I'd pay later for it.

Going down on your back is safer then face 1st.
