BM Aura and Regal finish the same?

I know there's a paint forum and I'll probably post there as well.

I'm in the process of selecting a navy blue paint for my one bathroom. I was going to cheap out but think the finish will suffer even more with the dark color.

I've used BM Aura Bath & Spa paint (red) for our other bathroom. I love the paint and the finish is beautiful (so called matte). I really don't believe I would've liked the red in just any paint.

I've used BM Regal in the past but only in semi gloss. I see they have it in matte and I believe it's cheaper.

Has anyone used both and how do they compare? How about just the BM Regal matte?

Yeah! We get to watch a new Shee project!

Haven't used the Aura, but have used the Regal. I used the Pearl finish in my kitchen and love it. I think it is the equivalent of Satin in other lines. I wanted something I could wash well as I don't have tile backsplash and it is great. Food and grease splatters wash totally clean, with no staining. Not nearly as shiny as semi-gloss, but does have a sheen.

We also have the Regal pearl finish on our kitchen paneling. We painted about 5 years ago and it is very durable. I really like the low-luster finish.

I wish I could see the finishes. My bathroom is in a satin now (not BM) and I'd like less shine. Words like 'low-luster finish' make me think it's less than what I have going on now.

I'm hoping to get the room painted sometime in July or August if I have to push it back. I'm going to pick up samples of Van Deusen Blue and Hale Navy.

What I have found is I despise any shiny paint in the bathroom. I experimented with "bath" paints and they all had some sort of sheen to them. Then the Aura Bath & Spa in matte came into my life.

To be able to have flat walls in the bathroom, that don't get runs from steam was priceless.

I will only use that paint from now on when I have to redo a bathroom.
