Do you mean the Las Vegas Four Seasons? The one that is just a few floors inside of the Mandalay?

I stayed there on business a few times. To my mind, it's a little odd. Like it is not really a hotel in itself, it's just bunch of nicer rooms. Like a concierge level at a Ritz. And of course great service. But there is not really a HOTEL, kwim?

Of course, I just don't really like Vegas anyway --- I've only been there for business conference. We also stayed at the Venetian. Very nicely sized rooms, meh on the details and service.

I almost think of the Vegas Four Seasons as a place you go to if you really dont want to be in Vegas. If you do want to be in Vegas, isnt the Bellagio supposedly nice?

I've only been to Vegas once, about 5 years ago, but we went inside most of the hotels on the strip. I think that I would like to stay at the Wynn. It is very well done, and not trying to be something it's not, like the Paris, Venetian, etc. Of course the whole City Center wasn't there when I was went, so there might be some nice hotels in that area.

It's been awhile since I've been to Vegas, but I stayed at the bellagio...it was ok. I was in my room and I thought I heard this barrage of gunfire....took me a moment to realize it was the fountains going off....my room was on the same side, but not high enough to see it.

I also stayed at the HIlton which wasn't especially memorable, but I suspect it's less expensive being a block off the strip. I wasn't paying either time though, being there on business.

GF was there a couple of weeks ago and said it was over 100! Yikes.

Las Vegas is all according to taste. And, in this adult playground, there is something for everyone. My favorite hotel is New York, New York.
It all depends on the mood you are trying to set. Romantic, fun, lively? You can't go wrong with any of the upscale hotels.
I agree with Annie, it will be very hot then, but of course less crowded.
I would get tickets to a special show ahead of time, so you are set for one special night out.
If you have never been to Vegas, then you will have fun going to all the hotels and seeing their special features.
The roller coaster in New York, New York was my kids favorite and they said one of the best ever. I will take their word for it since I did not go on It!

BTW, a surprise get away for your DW is so nice! I hope we don't sound like downers.

Why Vegas, and why Vegas in July? Maybe we can offer other ideas?

Faron, we are staying at the Bellagio for 1 night in about two weeks. I can report back with a "review" when we return if you're interested!

I forgot the mention that we stayed at the Paris with a view of the Bellagio fountains, so the location was nice. The room was nice, but nothing too special. I do remember that the shower had the worst water pressure I have ever experienced. I'm sure that it is a water saving issue, but when you need to spend 3 times as long in the shower trying to rinse the shampoo out of your hair I don't know how much water is being saved.

I like the Venetian and the Wynn. I must confess that even though I don't really enjoy gambling, I love love Vegas. The energy of the place is fabulous. I enjoy the Cirque shows (Love based on Beatles was fabulous). The food is varied and very interesting. We ate at this asian fusion place (Andrea's) that was fantastic. A walk down the strip with stops for the fountains and the perpetual twilight zone at venetian etc. is always lovely.

I have never stayed at the LV Four Seasons. Would love to try a Four Seasons one day though.
I have stayed at THEHOTEL which is inside Madalay Bay Hotel. It was very nice, loved it. This was about 4 to 5 yrs ago.
I am going to Vegas real soon. And we are staying at the Aria Hotel. It's suppose to be real nice. We shall see.

You should check out this website. There is lots of info on it about Vegas...Enjoy

The Bellagio is gorgeous, I also liked Ceasars. We stayed off the strip (Stratosphere-by the old strip) and it wasn't bad. But the casino was so smokey. At the bigger places, like the Bellagio & Ceasars, it wasn't so bad. Never did make it to the Paris or New York. Was at the Hard Rock, also not on the strip and the Cosmopolitan (on Strip).

Next time I go it will be for the next Def Leppard residency-and I'll probably stay at the Hard Rock again, otherwise I'd pick Ceasars.
