Leaving today for the cabin for a week. Stupid duplex won't close because of carriage house roof and a stubborn seller, who is willing to split the cost but wants to fix it without a permit- after the building department has been alerted to the problem by four different people. I won't put a Contractor's livelihood at risk and I don't want the fines that are sure to follow if caught. We aren't that large of a city and the house is deemed historical.

Sigh. I really wanted that place.
