Boring question about toothbrushes

Jamie

Several Sonicare toothbrushes claim they go "up to 31,000" brush strokes per minute. There is a $100 difference between the most and the least expensive of them. The most expensive claims to whiten better and remove more plaque.

Why would this be, if they are both vibrating at the same rate?

Are the brush heads really that different? I think the motion is the same on all the units?

I tried chatting and the CS person kept talking about results - 83% whiter, 100% more plaque removed.
But I question the mechanism. It appears to me that the brushes are doing the same motion at the same vibration speed and it's just a matter of how long.

Anybody know?
