don't be depressed !! it happens to all of us, those rearview mirrors are awful, and the lighting, and the proximity to the mirror..... :(

don't forget that a dressing room is a mighty small space, lol......

Gah, I hate most fitting rooms. I have a funny mirror situation at my own house. I have two full length mirrors in two different rooms. One is very flattering and makes me look at least 5 lbs thinner than I am. The other is probably more accurate and makes me look heavier. Some days, I avoid the "accurate" mirror altogether. Other days, I check the flattering mirror and if all looks okay there, I steel myself and re-check myself in the accurate mirror. Then when I go to a store, I might look entirely different in their mirror -- 5-10 lbs heavier or lighter or just plain "WTH happened since I left the house?"

I agree with Sue. And I also have two types of mirrors in my home.
I know that certain stores have mirrors that made you look thinner. Then you come home and try the outfit on and wonder what you were thinking.

I once tried on some bathing suits at a swim wear store in Vegas. They had mirrors that not only made you look thinner, but tanner too!

I have found that I always look better in the dressing rooms at my local Penney's than at Macy's. Guess where I buy more clothes?

The lighting is harsh fluorescents and too-white LED and we had better get used to it because that's what Everything is going to look like soon.

One of those mirrors that make you look tanner would be great when trying on swim suits and bras!

I have some great soft white LED bulbs in my kitchen. They are really improving them quickly.

Talbots definitely has fun house skinny mirrors. Things that I think look good in their dressing rooms look terrible when I try them on at home.
