Pouf! Gone!

Read a thread. Back buttoned and *pouf* the thread I had been reading is gone. Too funny. I've never understood why people don't just let these things run their course.

I'm not sure what thread you mean? I know, I don't see why people would have them deleted. I've had a couple of mine deleted by the monitors- they got too heated I guess.

A throwback to their high school days? I don't get it either.

What thread was it?

RE: Pouf! Gone!

The funny thing is, we could just start a Yahoo email group with no moderators. 'Home Decorating Girlfriends'. Lol!! Anyone can start one. I didn't see the thread.

That's a great idea golddust..

RE: Pouf! Gone!

was it a new thread or an old one ? aside from the pharmaceutical thread,
I did not notice anything controversial lately ....

RE: Pouf! Gone!

For the life of me, I can't quite understand why some heated threads are allowed and others aren't. It's my experience that we eventually work it all out, even if we just agree to disagree... There is always another thread where we do agree. Maybe the moderators don't have siblings? LOL!

I think its just a matter of someone complaining. If no one complains it stays, if someone sends an email to complain about it, it goes.

With all the thousands of posts on all the forums here to keep tabs on, the vast majority pulled are about who decides to call in a mod. Members come and go over the years and the extent to which threads are reported tend to ebb and flow along with that. After awhile it becomes more readily noticeable that often a pattern emerges depending on who's participating at any given phase. My own stance has always been what your last sentence says. After all these years here, to this day it's difficult to wrap my brain around the concept of an adult essentially tattling on others over a conversation. Leaves my head shaking in disbelief every time.

Boy is that the truth!

RE: Pouf! Gone!

A lot of time people do ask to have their own threads pulled too for a variety of reasons. It's not always because someone "tattled".

 o
RE: Pouf! Gone!

I haven't noticed any threads being pulled, but then again, I don't go into all of them.

I don't like when people contact moderators though, it does seem Jr. highish.

Hahahaha, that is funny.

 o
RE: Pouf! Gone!

Better be careful or you may find this one being pulled. I'm not sure that everyone has a sense of humour or understands "tongue in cheek" comments. ;-)

RE: Pouf! Gone!

No kidding, blf. But we're not talking about anyone in particular though.

BTW, does anyone know how many forums are on GW? I'd hate to be a monitor, it'd give me a headache. lol

RE: Pouf! Gone!

Ive noticed a few times that when I reply to a thread and select return to forum, the thread I posted to isn't there. It sometimes takes a little while for it to reappear. I also noticed that usually when that happens, someone else was posting at about the same time. Has your missing thread reappeared?

 o
RE: Pouf! Gone!

Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to this. Life. Yes, the thread reappeared after a time. The thoughts about people having threads deleted remains.

Carry on!
