A 'deal' isn't always the deal you think it's gonna be. I love trip advisor and always go there to read reviews as well as price out hotels, and such.

Thanks! It's funny that we always see "cheap deals" to Vegas, but now that I am looking for something specific, nothing turns up! Or at least not at the rates that I have seen.

"Sometimes", booking directly with a hotel finds a cheap rate. But then its tricky to find an airline deal to match the dates. Conventions can also boost rates a bit.
Looking for a beach escape, I see prices drop dramatically after Easter, which is late this year.

DH and I just went to LV for the first time ever, and got a pretty good deal. However, that was February, and I would think by April that prices will be higher. I used Trip Advisor for ideas and booked through www.vegas.com. Interestingly, I don't ever feel the need to go back there!

Thanks Texan. I know what you mean! This trip is different in that we want to go to a convention and it happens to be there.
I am in touch with my nephew who used to work in Vegas. He is checking out some ideas for us.
