Is the seat replaceable at all__he seat surface vs. the post? You might want to remove the seat/post and go to a bike shop and have them look at it. A more comfortable seat that accommodates your "sit bones" may be all you need vs. a cover .

Thanks. I don't think the seat itself can be changed. I'll look into the biker shorts, but one of the great advantages of this is that I can hop on for 15 or 30 minutes throughout the day ... whenever I want to check email or go Wikihopping. Or visit GardenWeb!

Usually the gel are more comfortable. Either check out a bike shop or a sporting goods store like Dick's, Academy, etc.

Also, I forgot to mention you did a lot! Going from nothing to three hours I think would affect anyone. Over time as your body adjusts --your "sit bones"--you will do better. On my outdoor bike I have a women's seat which better accommodates women's anatomy.

I use padded shorts for biking and Spin class, but if I didn't have the shorts I could still do it after all these years.

I use a gel cover for my bikes instead of padded bike shorts. I don't know if any brand is better than another -- but the way the cover fits the seat (they do come in different sizes and shapes) and if it has the most cushioning where you need it is key.
