Xmas ornament, needle too small

Posted by barb5 (My Page) on

Hi,

First time posting here. I had the idea of getting kits to make Xmas ornaments with. I am OK with the cross stitching, but the kits also involve beads. The kit includes a size 10 tapestry beading needle that the instructions say to use 2 strands of yarn with.

Even using a needle threader, the eye of this needle is too small to get 2 strands of yarn through. Is there some trick to this I don't know about?

Thank you for any help you can give me. I was hoping to use these stitched ornaments as presents this year.

In all the beading kits I've done they have all said to use 1 strand. I'm sure that it won't change anything with yours if you just use 1 instead of 2. Just make sure you don't jump around a lot so the beads will be tight.
