 o
red wine stain

Hubby spilled red wine on the corner of a cross stitch that was leaning against the wall. I tried salt and club soda and now its just soaking in warm water. Any suggestions? This is not an heirloom and its not that important to me (that's why it was still leaning against the wall). Thanks.

OK, most of it is out-I put some dish soap on it and rubbed it a bit (it was in the corner with no stitching) and its pretty much gone. I find dish soap to be one of the best stain removers around, especially when you don't want to get the big guns out. And thus far, the red hasn't run. So far, so good.

If the stain doesn't come all the way out, maybe you can re-frame it (assuming it was in a frame) with a wider mat or smaller frame so the stain will be hidden.
