Early Colonies/Historical Patterns

Posted by Dicentra (My Page) on

I've been doing some cross stitching after a few years of putting it down. I really like the Smithsonian samplers of cross stitch and patterns featuring the early colonies here. Would anyone have an idea as to where I could get patterns of early colonial life in America? Thanks...
Trish :)

You might contact some of the stitchery places in the states who were part of the early colonies. Also, you can convert pictures to cross stitch with computer programs. I will be going to that area in about a month and will keep my eyes open for shops that have that kind of patterns/kits etc.

Try the National Park Service. I have seen stitchery kits of historic scenes for sale in many of their bookstores.

Dicentra--Go to the link below for beautiful reproduction sampler patterns. You might also try an internet search for reproduction sampler patterns or kits. Many people offer beautiful copies and/or interpretations of the real things!

Here is a link that might be useful: The Scarlet Letter
