color bled when I washed cross stitch

A framing place advised me to wash the counted cross stitch my daughter sent me before framing it. The color bled a bit.
Does anyone have a fix for this? Would it be possible to touch up the white canvas with white fabric paint or a white marker of some kind?

RE: color bled when I washed cross stitch

Next time while it's wet soak it in cold water and keep changing the water and rinsing and all the color should come out. I wash all my projects when done and have never had DMC threads run once. What I have done before is if it's not near any threads I take a q-tip and dab on a dot of bleach on the white, do this when I get spots on a white shirt too and it works. Mary!
