I saw a pic a lady did of her cat done in c.s. with beads. I'd like to make one of my dog. How do I go about getting the pic on canvas and do you think this is to advanced for a beginner? Thanks.

You could use PC stitch and chart it from your photo but instead of floss use beads. I have Anne Benson's book bead point and it shows how to cross stitch with beads and do pictures and what types of beads are good for this, wonderfull book. Mary
