| I haven't cross stitched in a long time and recently bought my first ever kit to do a baby sampler for a friend (Dimensions Toy Shelf - really cute)
Half way through the piece I noticed on the directions that the thread dyes are not colorfast and may bleed when washed!! What's up with this? I have always handwashed and pressed my finished pieces and now I'm terrified this piece will be ruined if I do. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it just the thread that came with this particular vendor, or are all threads not colorfast. Does DMC thread bleed? I used to do all my work in DMC and wish I had used it instead of the thread included in this kit as it is poor quality and hard to work with. |

| I would contact dimensions. I have always used DMC and washed and ironed it and never a problem with bleeding. You will have to see what kind of thread dimensions is using in their kits. That is why I hate kits as I end up replacing the aida with linen and using DMC floss. Mary |
