How do I attach my fabric to a scroll frame?

I've never used a frame before, have always used a hoop. I don't know how to attach my aida cloth to the frame.
I've googled and found frames with either a velcro to attach to or a piece of fabric to sew to. My frame has neither. Just a groove and a smaller piece of dowel that fits into it.
Can anyone explain how to use this? Thanks so much

If it's like the one I used, you should be able to put your fabric between the two pieces of the scroll dowels. Mine separate completely. When you get your fabric lined up, put the side bars back on and tighten the screws. Getting it even and straight can take a little time, so take your time and gradually tighten the screws.
Roll your work so that your needlework rolls inward - not back. It will stay cleaner.
I personally prefer the fabric style scroll frames. I've never used the velcro style.
Good luck.
