    Here's a little something
    a dessert just for you
to make inside a coffee mug
and here is what you do

    Follow the instructions carefully
and when it's done you'll see
your very own cake, so do not share
    this special gift from me

Hope this is what you had in mind

Sharon - gave my co-workers the cake in a mug - they were thrilled - so funny, they acted like I had given them the moon - they were really impressed - without your poem it would have been nothing - you are very clever - thanks

I printed the poem on a business card (Avery) and the directions on another business card. Punched a hole and tied them to the handle of the cup with small green ribbon. Found little bags at $store, 3 for $1. Fit the mugs perfectly. looked great. very impressive.

Wonder if anyone else is good at poems? I used the poem above last year, wondering if anyone else has one. I would like for it to mention the microwave.
    thanks

You sound like a fun bunch of gals so I'm trying one. I can hardly wait to make some of these for my friends this year, now that I have a recipe. Thanks much.
    You R A Special Person,
And wanted U to know it.
    I've mixed a cake,
    For U 2 bake.
    Inside your coffee mug.
    Follow the instructions.
    Then sit back & enjoy,
    This gift from me.

    Friend Forever we will be!

The 3 and 4 line could be
    Here's a mix,
    4 U to fix.

    Here's one:

WhatÂs inside this coffee mug? Not money. Not cologne.
ItÂs a single-serving little cake, meant for you alone.

You mix it up inside the cup. Microwave. Then wait.
And when it cools, youÂre sure to find, it really tastes quite great.

Have it all or share some bites. You decide. Feel free.
The only rule is, when you eat, you stop and think of me.

    Hi again,
I thought the above poem needed more about the person who's receiving the gift, so I added this (to be used as the first stanze).

ItÂs true that you are special. YouÂre super. You are great.
So I'm giving you this coffee mug to tell you, "YouÂre first rate!"

WOW - Thanks guys, you are so clever. I always wanted to be the type of person who could write cute poems. Guess I can't be everything, but sure is fun trying.

Oldalgebra, I really like putting the two together for a new poem. It's great how one (sharoncrafts) comes up with a poem and it can be changed to use year after year and given to the same person. This site is so fun.

I've never heard of Cake-In-A-Mug before. But you can bet, I'll be giving a few of these gifts this Christmas Season. :)
