I'm sorry for your loss.

With roses, you can just hang them upside down to dry in an airy, shady place. Keep them out of the sun to preserve as much color as possible.

I think there's a way to preserve them with glycerine, too, but they need to be fresh, and you asked a week ago, so that deadline's probably passed.

MY computer has been down so I haven't been on. My house has to be at 76 for my health & all I do is bring in roses & set in a vase & they dry in 3-4 days. So a very warm place that has no direct sun would dry them. There is a floral preservative that comes in a can & you sprinkle on them & put them in the can & they dry by the stuff sucking the moisture out of them. I've dried red, pink & orange well, yellow is iffy sometimes does well sometimes fade out or get brownish. I've flattened carnations & roses in Kleenix or tissue paper in a telephone book but roses don't do to well as they are so thick. Hope you were able to save them. If you are in a warm place where you can grow roses & they are long stem you can cut a 4-6 in. piece of stem, dip thickest end in cinnamon powder & place in moist dirt, if it is kept evenly moist(maybe plastic bag over it loosely if indoors) I have had luck growing a rose from stem of roses I made mom's corsage from for Mother's day. Mom's passed now so looking at that rose that is 6 ft tall & has red "sweetheart" roses on it means a lot to me. Right now it's covered with roses. She died last year at this time. So sorry you lost a son. Hope it's not too late to save something. Jan
