Spring Loaded Roller Shade

Can anyone help me source a spring loaded roller shade? I want to customize it using my own fabric but I'm also not sure what to use as a backing to fuse the fabric to something more stable. I would also love some suggestions as how to attach the fabric to the roller shade. I decided I do not want the roller shade with the clutch beads, I want to be able to pull it from the bottom, spring loaded.

I looked into Fuse A Shade Kits but it seems they are discontinued everywhere. I'm not sure if it is spring loaded either. Looking to go old school here.

I read this earlier tonight & then I was going through some magazines mom gave me! Better Homes & Gardens says that Joanne's has a roller shade kit with backing for fabric, hanging hardware & roller. April 2009 issue & it says it is about $20 so hope this helps & hope you are near a Joanne's otherwise some other fabric store might work!! Good Luck!! Jan

You can use old shades that don't look nice anymore. Remove the old vinyl or what ever. Make your own fabric shade and staple it to the roll. I've been saying that I'm going to do that to the ripped up ones in our bedroom but haven't gotten to it yet. Just make sure the new one isn't too thick or it won't fit.
