Help framing in cat door

Thought I would look to all the creative folks out there.

I'm looking for ideas to frame in this cat door. Like a doll house door (although I don't like that idea), or the cat coming out of a mouse's mouth?

This is a back door mudroom with the cat hole door mid way on the wall.

Thanks. Hope this picture links for y'all!

I can't remember how to direct link images in here. Does anyone have directions how to do it again?

Though not strictly related, this reminded me of the fairy doors of Ann Arbor, MI (google it - you'll be glad you did).

I think that one of the most charming things about the fairy doors is that they often mimic their location. That seems like a nice thing for kitty doors as well. Perhaps the kitty door could reflect your decor? Echo the people door or some other design element.

The sailboat on the shelf reminded me of the poem "The Owl and the Pussycat"

Perhaps the kitty door could be a little pea green boat?

What a fun project! I hope you share photos of the finished door.

RE: Help framing in cat door

I just returned from San francisco and I had to check responses. I love the idea. I'll keep you posted on what we do.
