I made a jar into a lamp today without using the kits that cost so much. I have the complete instructions on my blog for anyone interested.

A number of years ago I made one (but my shade isn't nearly as good looking :^(. I use it to store my antique/vintage cookie cutters!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!! I am really happy with the looks of the lamp! I added a list of different items you can fill the jar with today on my blog.

Very nice! You have great detailed instructions on your blog.

I made lots of the jar lamps with the electric candle inside. Those were fun to make also, and drilling the hole in the jar wasn't hard at all.
