patriotic plaque with house numbers (picture)

I made this plaque and am really proud of it. I didn't think it would turn out this well. I saw a similar one on another house and decided to make my own. I like mine alot better...the one I saw didn't have the stars on it. These stars are pre-cut wood stars that I painted and hot-glued on. The house numbers are plastic and I got them at Walmart. After everything dried, I gave it a couple coatings of acrylic clear gloss. I only hung it on the front door to take a picture of it. It is now hanging on the outside of my house beside the front door. I have vinyl siding, so I used 2 small plastic clips that slide up under your siding to hang it. I had to tighten the wire, so that is not visible.

Thanks. I am very proud of it. That is as far as my painting skills go LOL. With a little painter's tape, it was easy to get the straight lines. The upper part where it looks like it has a whitish powdery residue must have been caused by the flash of my digital camera. It does not look that way at all.

What a great idea and you did a nice job! I can see these being customized by color/design for holidays, etc. :)

Thanks. I did learn as someone said, that hot glue is not good for outside use. We had a good rain one day and 2 of my stars feel off. I took them all of and removed as much of the hot glue as I could. I used a hair dryer to soften the glue and scraped it off. I used Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Glue to put them back on, and all have stayed on. That was back in early June. I think I'm going to leave it up all year round.
