Anyone have the poem for.....

Oklahoma

remember the 'Fishing' seed poem a year or so back?

I'm doing my first craft show in a few weeks and thought I would do a few $1.00 items. I think the 'seeds' will go over.

So, if anyone would like to post [or email] ANY seed poem I really REALLY would so appreciate it.

jbrownfamily@aol.com

Or maybe some of you ol' pro craft show gals would like to give me some 'hot ideas' to take with me?

Thanks for your time, Oklahoma

Not sure just which 'Fishing' poem you remember, but here are three from the past...

Fish bait: You put dried peas in a baggie with the instructions - Sprinkle peas on the water. When the fish come up to take a P** catch em!

    *********************************

    fish bait
. It's a baggy with split peas in it. Make a topper for the top with...
(Name of local lake, river etc.) Fish Bait
Sprinkle bait over a small section of water
When fish come up to take a "Pea",
    GRAB IT!!!

    *********************************************

    Fish Seeds
The fish seeds are the gold fish crackers placed in a handmade seed packet or little baggie with the following poem. The poem was written by our brilliant resident poet Les.

It's known you like to fish a lot,
Your line dropped in the water,
    But sometimes they aren't biting,
So you can't catch what you ought'er!

And here is a copy of an old thread here about different seed gag gifts...

    Unusual Seeds

I have made up a number of different kinds of "gag gift" seeds, like cow, donut, and Texas porcupine seeds, and I want to put some in a little bag or basket with a mini shovel and rake as a gift for a gardener. Could someone please write me a poem to put on the card to go with the gift?

    Tucked inside this cheery pot,
For a favorite gardener of mine,
    Are seeds for unusual plantings
    Like cows, donuts and porcupine!
Please treat them like any other seeds
And they will produce what I'm after:
Not what's on the "seed" packet at all
But a harvest of smiles and laughter!

    COW SEEDS:
Take some large white lima beans and paint black spots on them, put them in a baggie. Staple saying to baggie. Saying has two sides.
FRONT SIDE: (Has a picture of a cow on it) COW SEEDS - HERD STARTER KIT
    BACK SIDE:
    1. Start your own herd.
    2. Plant the seeds in warm spot right side up. Cow will grow upside down if planted wrong.
    3. Be patient, it takes a long time to start your own herd.
    4. For best results, MOO softly while watering.

    DONUT SEEDS:
Take a baggie and put Cheerios or some other cereal that looks like a donut in it. Staple saying to baggie. Saying has two sides.
FRONT SIDE: DONUT SEEDS - NEW HYBRID
    Grow your own donut bush.
Planting instructions on back of package.
    BACK SIDE:
    HOW TO GROW
Carefully place one seed at bottom of a ten foot hole, five feet apart in any type of soil.
When mature bush will grow to a height of six feet.
FOR GLAZED DONUTS: Pour twenty pounds of sugar in each hole.
GUARANTEE: If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, or plants fail to grow in five years, dig up seeds for PRO-RATED refund.
    GOTCHA, INC. DONUT GROWERS

    LEGEND OF THE HEN'S TEETH:
Take some white rice and put in a baggie, Staple saying to baggie.
THE LEGEND OF THE HEN'S TEETH
Somewhere in a remote part of the Ozarks is a breed of chickens that grow teeth. The strange thing is that outside this particular area, they cease to grow teeth, which is why all the common chickens you see are toothless descendants of the "Molar Marvels." Anyone fortunate enough to have these teeth in their possession will find that they bring more luck than a rabbits foot or a fourleaf clover.

When those times come, just grab this pack
Of "ready to grow" fish seed.
Then raise them 'til they fit the size
    Your best "fish stories" need!

    Golf Ball Seeds
The golf ball ones I make with round white gum balls with the following poem attached, also written by Les.

With balls in the water or lost on the course
This is just what a player needs.
To replenish your stash of golf balls,
Just make use of these Golf Ball Seeds!

Cheerios for donuts seeds? Of course the frosted cheerios are for frosted donuts. *smiling*

How about a bag full of Alphabet cereal for a keyboard?

Slice those round black NIBS into hockey puck seeds?

Pinto beans colored with black spots for cow seeds?

Pinto beans colored or dipped to look pink for pig seeds?

Pinto bean with a face drawn on one end and a partial cotton ball glued to other for sheep seeds? LOL OR Easter bunny seed?

Dried up tiny marshmallows for snowman seeds? three glued together with face drawn on the top one?

Snowman Kisses: Mini Marshmallows, red if you can find them

    If you were bad
    there would be
    Boos and Hisses

    But you were good
    So here are some
    Snowman Kisses

    Snowman Seeds: Mini Marshmallows

Directions: Before first frost, Plant snowman seeds in Shallow ground. Water Generously. Seeds are edible

    CANDY CANE SEEDS

Use The Red and white mints

I once knew a gardener, who knew how to grow
Bright tasty candies, right out of the snow.

I asked him to share his secret with me
And this is what he replied quite readily

To garden in winter, is difficult you see
it takes lots of care and a very special seed

I'll give you a couple, to grow your own treats
And you'll soon reap a harvest of candy cane sweets

    Dinosaur Seeds

    Use speckled jelly beans

    This looks like a seed
    But it's really much more.
If you use it just right
    You'll get - DINOSAUR!
    Perhaps a plain stegasaurus,
Or if that one won't do,
    Stive for something more famous
    Like a T-Rex named Sue!
    No matter the creature
    It's sure to be classic:
When you plant one of these
    You'll get something Jurassic!

Inside this little bag are eggs of a different kind,
not from chickens, birds or ducks but from something
    you cannot find.
They come from dinosaurs large and small, that used to
    walk the land.
From long necks and t-rexes....be careful, watch your hand!
