christmas cards

I am wondering if any of you know if their are places that still want old christmas cards. My mother pasted away and had saved all her christmas cards for years. They are not old enough to have a money value, I just hate to dispose of them if their could be a use for them.

RE: christmas cards

There are some real nice crafts to be made with old cards, if you have more then you can use you might check with some local nurseing homes who might like them for doing crafts, Iam sure others will have some ideas for you, nice of you to want to share!

RE: christmas cards

I have placed some of my favorite Christmas cards in picture frames and use them as part of my Christmas decor throughout the house.

RE: christmas cards

If you don't mind paying postage to mail your cards, you can send them to St. Jude's Ranch for Children.

Google them and read about the ranch. They take all kinds of cards (only the fronts with no writing on it) that can be recycled and made to fit a 5x7 card. The kids do all the work and the cards are sold by the box, profits for the ranch/kids.

I went thru years and years of cards saved by my mom and this is what I did with hers and my own cards. Some I kept and have recycled myself but the majority went to the Ranch.

Just a thought.

RE: christmas cards

Mammerjj, so sorry for your loss. I think it is wonderful that you want to share those pretty cards with others. I would imagine that most senior centers would love to have them to use in craft projects too. Luvs
