Cigarette Package Trivets

Has anyone ever heard of cigarette package trivets(hot plates)? My Mom used to make them by cutting a special design into the package and putting them together into a round trivet, held together with an elastic band. She never passed on the info, and she is passed away now. If anyone could help me, please email me at: hawkeye85304@hotmail.com. Thanks!

I remember these too . Unfortunately I am unable to help with the pattern . I dont have it either but wish I did .
